My name is Sizolwethu Nkumane, I am 20 years old from Pongola, KwaShoba Area. I am currently doing my third year in Pharmacy at Rhodes University.
I studied at Gqamnjengelanga Primary School and went to Magutshwa High School where I completed grade 12. I live with my grandmother and my other two siblings aged 11 and 4, as well as my father who is mentally disturbed. The only source of income in my family is child, disability grant and pension.
I chose pharmacy because of my father who was unable to get medical treatment. I hope one day I can help people with the same condition as my father maintain their illness.
I wouldn't be where I am right now if Aspen Pharmacare and Umthombo did not agree to fund my studies. Having Aspen funding has helped to reduce financial stress and it gives me the inspiration to work very hard on a daily basis.
